If you open preview and try and use any of the menu options like Selection, Restart etc then you get a beachball and the preview crashes after a few seconds.

We think we’ve figured this one out now. It appears to be linked to the use of window managers such as Moom. You can read more details about it here.
We’ve made a fix for this which’ll be out in the upcoming 1.4 release.
