When running fuse preview (without -t Android/iOS) the CPU usage is almost constantly at > 98% even though views has been updated. Sitting on a MacBook Air this would drain my battery pretty quickly if I wasn’t hooked up to an outlet.
It isn’t as intense when running with -t iOS but it still uses a lot of CPU.
I’ve noticed the same thing using “Fuse-Preview” -> “Local” on OS X El Capitan. Running Fuse version 0.25.1 (build 7615).
** Key point for High CPU usage for me is: “For any Fuse project using javascript”.**
Steps to reproduce:
- Download and “Fuse-Preview” -> “Local” the “material-upvote” example.
- Start Activity monitor and you’ll see “Fuse” using 12-13% if it’s in the foreground.
- Download and “Fuse-Preview” -> “Local” the “Loading-Button” example
- In monitor and you’ll see “Fuse” using 96-101% if it’s in the foreground.
Hi! Thanks for reporting this. We’ll investigate!
Any more specs you can give on your machines and setup would be appreciated.
I’m on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) with a 2.4GHz core I5 and 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 running El Capitan (10.11.6). Running Atom with the fuse-plugin - so I right-click on the file I’m editing and choose “Fuse-Preview” -> “Local” to run it.
Other than Atom and the Fuse Simulator, I was running Safari, terminal and Activity Monitor at the time.
Let me know if you need anything else.
Hi, this issue is solved, and the fix will be part of Fuse 0.26.
We decided to release a hotfix for this problem, in Fuse 0.25.2. You can get it now from the download page.
