Trying to utilize Japanese characters, but the text simply isn’t appearing when using a font. If using the default font family, boxes appear only. Is there a trick/encoding declaration to make asian character sets display properly?
At the moment, the text rendering system in preview does not support these characters. They should work fine on the device, though. We’re currently working on this issue, and it’s one of our highest-priority tasks, but we don’t have a better ETA yet than “asap”

Try building with the -DUSE_HARFBUZZ flag.
