# Unable to see build log

I have an error in my code, but for some reason I cannot see the build log.

When I click to see the build log, the getting started image changes opacity and nothing.

I’m clicking on the yellow status bar below, where it says “Build failed, click for build log”, since the gif doesnt show where my mouse is.

Any ideas?

Update: Managed to get the monitor fired up, nothing shows up there.

Hi, I’ve seen this issue before. Unfortunately, we don’t know what’s causing it, but we’re replacing that component in a few months, which should get rid of the problem.

In the mean time, I can only suggest you start preview [from the command line](https://www.fusetools.com/docs/basics/preview-and-export#preview-from-command-line) or [from one of our Sublime/Atom plugins](https://www.fusetools.com/docs/basics/preview-and-export#preview-from-sublime-text).
